Stansted airport to KL

How to embark on an Air Asia flight from Stansted to KL:

..this is what you see when you enter the departure hall.

After your tearful bye-byes, go into the departure area, show the officer your boarding pass and passport and he/she will let you through. You will be in a queue to screen your hand luggage. Any liquids or cream will have to be in a re-sealable plastic container and each piece must not be more than 100ml. If you don't have a re-sealable container, they will insist that you buy it there and then, at the dispenser that gives you 4 bags for a Pound in a round plastic capsule.

After you and your hand luggage have gone through you will go into the departure/shopping lounge, like the above and below:

Normally for Air Asia flights, you will already know which gate you are going through to board the plane. In my flights so far, the gate number is even printed on the Boarding Pass. However, sometimes there may be a last minute change so you have to keep hearing out for the announcements and you must keep checking the Departure Board like you see below

Look at the board for Departures and not Arrivals!!

After you are sure about your departure gate, look for the directions to your gate as below:

Most likely, you will have to take a train shuttle to go to your departure gate. The train comes and goes very regularly so don't panic if you miss one. There are only two stops depending on which gate you are going to. Once you arrive at the relevant stop, just get off, follow the directions and use the escalators to your gate.

The above is the approach to the train shuttle. Note that for those going to gate 81 to 88, they do not board the shuttle!

...come in, don't be afraid...

....after coming off the shuttle, you will faced with these escalators..

and these second sets of escalators...

and finally, your boarding gate!!!

  1. Too overly complicated, too much of a fuss to get to boarding gate and too little time...
